Babysitterdirectory was founded by a couple in Melbourne, Australia. While living in Queensland in 2006/07 for one year with their two young children, far away from family and friends and their usual babysitters, they found no online services that allowed them to easily and cost effectively locate and contact babysitters directly. Hence Babysitterdirectory was formed and launched in June 2008.

Ann Nolan - Irish born and Melbourne based Ann was the National eBusiness & Online Services Manager at a niche job site for the automotive industry where she was responsible for strategic direction, marketing, development and management of the company's online presence. Ann is also an award winning short film maker. Now, with three young children under 6 years she is currently enjoying the flexability that a start up life is giving her to spend time with her family and kids.
